“Pressing Toward the Vision with Purpose and Renewed Commitment"

The Vision  and purpose of our church is to be a family of believers rooted in the Word of God and Prayer,  whose love of Christ for one another allows the overflow of  joyful sharing of the Gospel with all.

We are a family of believers who are committed to following Jesus Christ, our Savior.

We believe that our daily lives are a reflection of our relationship to God. It is our mission to glorify God with the worship of our lives. We believe that God’s written word, the Bible is true and tells us how to know God and live for him.

Being believers of  Christ, our mission is to lead others to Christ. We perform this task through the witnessing of the Word, providing the means for Christian growth, and engaging in practicing Christianity.  We also achieve this by encouraging the congregation to use their Spirituals gifts to minister to the needs of others.

The church of Christ is built upon a foundation of solid rock. "Upon this rock," Jesus said, "I will build my church." The rock being referred to is the confession made by Peter by divine revelation – "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." (Matthew 16:13-18) This eternal truth is the foundation of the church. It is solid ground for all God’s people to stand upon. This is what we believe and follow in our hearts.

Not only is Jesus the foundation of the church, he is the provider of the building material that composes the church. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, the Lord works in our hearts – shaping, moulding, calling us through the gospel. When we are redeemed, we become "living stones, [and] are being built into a spiritual house…" (1 Peter 2:5) . "Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labor in vain." (Psalm 127:1).

To build a rock solid foundation in Jesus Christ, we must always engage in all aspects of Christianity.

**********************************************************************************************

There are five functions that we adhere to and practice:

         1.
Worship - "We will love God and honor him"

Psalm 95 : 6                 “O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the

                                                     LORD our maker”.

John 4 : 23                   “But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall

worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such

                                                                to worship him”.

         2.        Ministry - "We will love and serve one another"

Ephesians 4 : 11-12      “And he gave some, apostles; and some,  prophets; and some,

                                                                  evangelists; and some,  pastors and teachers;

For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of

the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ”.

JOHN 13 : 34                 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved

you, so you must love one another”.

3.        Evangelism - " We will share Christ with the world."

Psalms 96 : 3                  “Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among

                                                       all   peoples”.

Matthew 28 : 19 – 20      “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in

The name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and

teaching them to obey  everything I have commanded you”.

4.        Fellowship - "Together"

Acts 2 : 42                         “The fellowship of Believers”

“They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the

fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer”.

1 Corinthians 1 : 9             “God, who has called you into fellowship with his Son Jesus Christ

                                                                       our Lord, is faithful”.

1 JOHN  1 : 7                    “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have

fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son,

                                                                        purifies us from all sin”.

5.        Discipleship - "Serve God and one another"

John 13 : 35                       “By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one

                                                                     another."

John 14 : 8                        “This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing

                                                                     yourselves to be my disciples”.

As we build a Rock Solid Foundation in Christ,  we learn to lean and depend on Jesus. This allows us, as believers to overcome all storms and difficulty in our lives. Through Jesus, we are conquerors.  Our hope and our vision is, indeed, in  Jesus Christ as we build a Rock Solid Foundation in him.
