"Reverend Bernard Kennedy and Wife, Mrs. Daphane Kennedy"

Reverend Kennedy is a native of  native of Walnut Grove, Mississippi.

He is the son of B. H. Kennedy of Forest, MS and Ida L. Griffin of Walnut Grove, MS.

He gave his first sermon on August 17, 2002 from the book of Psalm 121 (entire chapter) and his subject was "Glad I Got Jesus".

 He joined Rock star in 2003 as an associate minister and was formerly a member of Harmony Baptist Church in Lena, MS.

 He is the father of two children, Joselynn and Jada.

His favorite verses are :

"In all thy ways acknowledge him and He shall direct thy paths." 

Proverbs 3 : 6

"I will list up mine eyes unto the hills whence cometh my help.

My help cometh from the Lord which made heaven and earth."

Psalms 121: 1 - 2

Reverend Kennedy's mission at Rock Star is to help the youth to avoid some of life's "difficult" situations through communicating and ministry in everyday life situations.

"Evangelist Popfeener Wooten"

 

"Evangelist Popfeener Campbell Wooten"

Evangelist Popfeener Wooten was born May 8, 1946 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She has Six Children, Thirteen Grandchildren and one Great Grandson, two Son-in-laws, and three Daughter-in-laws. She is a widow of ten years.

She loves God with all her heart, soul and mind, as well as her Sisters and Brothers in Christ, family, friends, neighbors, and enemies.

Her favorite Scripture is Psalm 23.

Evangelist Wooten is involved in several ministries at Rock Star:

   Service in the Gospel Choir as President

   Service as a Youth Sunday Teacher

   Service in the Missionary Society as Chaplain

   Service in the Pastor's Aide Ministry as 

            Financial Secretary

   Service as a member in the Golden Age Choir

   Service in "Sharing & Caring, Christian Ladies   

          Ladies on the Move Neighborhood Program

   Service as Missionary Member to visit Sick at

         home,   in Nursing homes and Hospitals.

Evangelist Wooten retired from her job at the Hudspeth Center

after Thirty (30) years.

  She has been blessed and called by God to be a Evangelist.

Her first sermon was on Sunday, March 7, 2004 from Isaiah 6:1 - 8.

The title of the Sermon was "Commit Yourself  To God".

I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength,

that he considered me faithful, appointing me to service.

 I Timothy 1:12

                  

               Rev. Milton Myles, Jr. and Deaconess Valerie Myles

Minister Milton Myles , Jr. is a native of Rankin County. He is the son of Deacon M J and Deaconess Vernell Myles of Brandon. He was called into the ministry in January of 2006, and preached his first sermon on March 12, 2006.

He is a lifelong member of Rock Star M. B. Church, where he has served in many capacities.  He is presently a member of the Nominating Committee and serves as President of the Male Chorus.

He is marred to Sister Valerie Myles and they are the parents of three children, LaTaura, Antwan, and  Keisean.

Minister Myles's Favorite verse is Philippians 4:13 which states "I can do all things through Christ who stengenthens me!
