Is anyone among you sick?
Let him call on the elders of the church, and let them prayer over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.
And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. James 5: 14-15
The Sick Ministry is designed to minister to the needs of members who are sick and/or who are unable to attend regular church services. This ministry also shares kindness and prayer with someone not well or disabled in the community. Ministers to the Sick are entrusted with the special care of the sick and homebound of our community. By regular visitation, and by genuine care and concern they extend the loving presence of the Church to those who are separated from the body of the Church by illness or inability to come.
We offer the same aspects of worship to the sick and shut-in on an as needed basis. Scriptures are read, Bible Study & Prayer is rendered, and Communion is offered as commanded in 1 Corinthians 11:25. Jesus explains in Matthew 25: 34-46 that by showing kindness to the poor, needy and sick, we show kindness to Him. As we show love and charity to our fellowman, we follow his commandments.
