Music

The word "Music" means the art of arranging sounds in time so as to produce a continuous, unified composition through melody, rhythm, and timbre.

M - Make a Joyful Noise Unto The Lord

    U - Unto God Always Give Thanks

       S - Sing Unto The Lord A New Song

           I - I Am Redeemed

             C - Come Unto Jesus While You Have Time

The mission of the Music ministry is to be empowered and led by the Holy Spirit to worship and edify God through songs; to commit us to training and preparation and to utilize our voices and musical instruments for the enhancement of the music ministry and to the Glory of God. As a Music ministry, our sole purpose is to "glorify the Father through song, to support the spoken Word, to lead and inspire the receiver of the Word, and to present a "balanced" ministry of music including hymns, anthems, spiritual and gospel music, both contemporary and traditional."

Thru these means God is glorified, worshipped and praised.

Psalm 150:3 - 6

"Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet;
Praise Him with the lute and harp!
Praise Him with the timbrel and dance;
Praise Him with string instruments and flutes!
Praise Him with loud cymbals;
Praise Him with clashing cymbals!
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.
Praise ye the Lord!

The music ministry consists of the following opportunities:

Gospel Choir - the oldest organized choir of the Church. In this choir, members are able to learn a variety of worship music ranging from hymns, spirituals, anthems and gospel music, both traditional and contemporary. Rehearsal Schedule - Wednesdays before the 1^st, 2^nd Sundays. AGE GROUP 18 years and up. Sister Sadie Pack is the choir President.

Inspirational Choir - Lends itself to more contemporary style of music but not limited to perform traditional music. Rehearsal Schedule - Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m. before the 3rd^t and 4th Sundays. AGE GROUP 13 years and up. Sis. Aleshia Caldwell is the Choir President.

Golden Age Choir - For members of the Golden Age Ministry; worship music ranges from hymns, spirituals, gospel music and other arrangements. Rehearsals are scheduled at appropriate times. AGE GROUP 55 years and up.

Mass Choir - Is a combination of all choirs and sings for Church Events and programs and special events on the Pastor's schedule. Rehearsals are scheduled at appropriate times. All age groups are welcome.

Male Choir - A male singing group sings a variety of music appropriate for male choral groups. The group is open to any male members without restriction of age. Rehearsal Schedule - Saturdays at 4:00 p.m. before the 3^rd and 4^th Sunday. Deacon Milton Myles, Jr. is the Choir President.

Youth Choir – Committed group of individuals who sing both contemporary and traditional songs. The group is open to youth from ages 5 to 18. Sister Kelwilneka Haley is the choir president.

Youth Ensemble - A group of talented young adults that harmonize in contemporary songs of praise. Age group ranges from 18 to 30. Sis Wanda Foreman direct the ensemble.

The Rock Star Music Ministry also has a group of piano, drum, and guitar Musicians. Sis. Denise Lister is the Music Director.
