Purpose:
The purpose of Rock Star’s Deacon Ministry is:
To help minister to the needs of God's church at Rock Star; co-laborer with the Pastor in implementing the church’s function of a ministry (leading worshippers to Christ)
To minister to the physical, spiritual and emotional needs of each member so they may develop and maintain a healthy relationship with the church, grow in their faith and discover opportunities to use their God given spiritual gifts and talents.
Help promote unity in the body by providing wisdom and ministry as needed.
As a team, participate in the Deacon Family Ministry program.
Prepare for and help in the administering of the Lord's Supper
Assist in the ministry of baptism and assistance with new converts
Supply the pulpit in the absence of the Pastor; resolve Disciplinary problems in the Church at the Pastor’s request (if he has not done so).
The Deacon Ministry of Rock Star provides valuable support in areas of benevolent needs, hospital visitation, church discipline, and prayer.
Each Deacon is assigned a Church Ministry and a group of families to oversee.
The following are scriptural qualifications of a deacon as found in Acts 6: 1 - 7 and 1 Timothy 3: 8 - 13.

Faithful in attendance in the worship services and Sunday School of the church. |

Patient and kind in his relationships with others; able to control his anger. |

|
Abstaining from all personal use of alcoholic beverages. |
|

A faithful member of the church.. |

Regular in attending the Deacon's meetings |

Dependable and a man of his word |

Mission / Goal : To help lead the Church to fulfill its mission ; Maintain spiritual and physical well-being of the church family
Qualifications of Deacons (1 Timothy 3: 8-13)
8 Likewise must the deacons be grave, not double tongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre;
9 Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.
10 And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless.
11 Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things.
12 Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.
13 For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.
